YAHP is an agricultural in-person training programme intended to equip young people with the skills to become successful 21st century agribusiness entrepreneurs.

The YAHP is divided into two phases; in Phase I, applicants are required to enroll in a one-year Certificate in Agriculture and Agro-Processing at The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), while Phase II aims to facilitate additional training in entrepreneurship, and moreover, provide experiential learning via an industry attachment programme.

While YAHP is funded by MYDNS, MIC-IT has responsibility for Project Management. However, training is facilitated by the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT). Here, selected applicants are enrolled in a full-time programme with UTT’s Eastern Caribbean Institute of Agriculture and Forestry (ECIAF) campus at Centeno.
