The NSDP Journeyman Diploma is an apprenticeship programme designed to provide trainees with the necessary competencies in various occupational areas related to the field of engineering.
MIC Institute of Technology partnered with the German Chamber of Crafts and Trades, Fitz Werner GmbH and the ICON-INSTITUT of Aachen, Germany and formed this diploma programme, modelling the German dual-system of training – which systematically combines the advantages of training in a company and education in a vocational school.
Graduates from this programme will demonstrate competence in a wide variety of skills and knowledge related to the Manufacturing and Energy sector.
Please note:
The Journeyman diploma spans three (3) years. During Year one (1), trainees will be exposed to all occupational areas while training in house at their respective MIC-IT centre. Upon successful completion of Year 1, trainees will then select ONE occupational area for specialisation and will be placed into an Industrial attachment for four (4) days on-the-job training per week, returning to their respective centre one day per week (or as necessary) – during the 2nd and 3rd Year.
