About this course:
This course provides you with the essential skills and knowledge to install, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV systems. Through hands-on training with a variety of photovoltaic tools and equipment, you’ll apply your electrical expertise to real-world installations. You’ll also learn to assess client needs, evaluate site conditions, and customise solar system designs to meet specific requirements, all while prioritising safety and adhering to industry standards. By the end, you’ll be ready to install, maintain, and repair photovoltaic systems, playing a vital role in the growing renewable energy sector.
What you will learn:
- Demonstrate safe work practices in photovoltaic system installation
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Apply electrical knowledge to solar photovoltaic installation processes
- Effectively use photovoltaic tools and equipment
- Work with various types of photovoltaic systems
- Assess customer needs for a solar PV system
- Evaluate site conditions and determine optimal system configurations
- Plan and customise photovoltaic system designs
- Perform accurate design calculations
- Adhere to building codes and industry standards
- Install complete photovoltaic systems
- Troubleshoot to identify problems with installed photovoltaic systems
- Conduct routine maintenance of photovoltaic systems
Educational Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Electrical Installation and/or experience in the field of Electrical Installation
Device Requirements
- A computer or laptop with a stable internet connection
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 or higher
- The following programmes must be installed:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Version 2010 or higher)
- Zoom (accessible via app or browser) for virtual learning sessions
Documentation Requirements
- One valid form of identification (National Identification Card, Driver’s Permit, Passport or Birth Certification
- A copy of your Birth Certificate will only be accepted if no other form of ID is available
- Proof of previous learning/experience: Documentation of basic knowledge of Electrical Installation and/or relevant experience in Electrical Installation

- The signed payment plan contract and 60% initial payment must be submitted at least 4 days before the course start date to secure your enrolment
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive ONE of the following e-certifications:
Graded Certificate of Achievement
Awarded to participants who have met all course requirements and assessment criteria
Certificate of Participation
Awarded to participants who have attended the course but did not meet the assessment criteria
Optional Hard Copy Certificate:
